Spring break in Mount Juliet 2027: school dates and things to do

Wilson County Schools’ spring break is Monday, March 8, to Friday, March 12, 2027. Students are also out on Good Friday, March 26. Spring break comes before Breeden’s Orchard opened for the season in 2026, so the week leans on parks, trails and museums close to home. Private schools set their own calendars.

Parks and playgrounds

Charlie Daniels Park, 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway, is the city’s main park. The city’s park page lists:

• Planet Playground, a 9,000-square-foot fenced playground, and “Squirrel’s Run” toddler park with a tricycle track
• A skate park, gaga ball pit and full-court basketball
• Four tennis courts, two pickleball courts and two sand volleyball courts
• A one-mile walking track that joins the Cedar Creek Greenway

The city’s paved greenways are open dawn to dusk, with a 15 mph limit and leashes no longer than 6 feet, on its parks and greenways rules. Ava’s Splash Pad does not open until summer. More in parks and trails and kids’ activities.

Long Hunter State Park

Long Hunter State Park, 2910 Hobson Pike in Hermitage, covers 2,670 acres on Percy Priest Lake. Tennessee State Parks says it has more than 36 miles of hiking trails, including the flat, paved, mostly shaded Couchville Lake Trail around the 110-acre lake, one of the most popular walks in the state park system. The Jones Mill Mountain Bike Trail at Bryant Grove is 5 miles and rated intermediate. The park office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Swimming at the Bryant Grove beach is unsupervised; swimming in Couchville Lake is not allowed.

Museums and history

• N.C. Hibbett Hall Train and History Museum, Charlie Daniels Park: the city’s free model train layout of Mount Juliet in the 1910s to 1940s. It opens on set Saturday afternoons; call Parks and Recreation for spring dates or an appointment.
• Mt. Juliet Welcome Center and General Store Museum, 50 E. Hill St.: open 24 hours, free, with vintage store signs, cameras and a phone booth.
• Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, about six miles west: the seventh president’s home, with mansion tours and grounds. Its next family homeschool day after spring break is Friday, April 9, 2027, “The Industrial Revolution Builds America,” 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., for ages 5 to 11 and open to all; leashed dogs and picnics are welcome.

Farms and orchards

Breeden’s Orchard, 631 Beckwith Road, opened its 2026 spring season on Saturday, March 28, with its Easter egg hunt, after spring break. It had not posted 2027 dates when this page was checked. See Easter in Mount Juliet.
